Large PSL particles and count controls can support particle-counting methods in pharmaceutical and clinical laboratory contexts when the material and procedure are appropriate. Do not imply that a PSL product is a diagnostic reagent or compendial solution unless its current intended-use documentation supports that claim.

Regulatory boundary: a reference particle can support an instrument or method; it does not independently make the method compliant.
