Choose a ready-to-use count control when the main objective is a repeatable number concentration—not simply a certified particle diameter.

Count controls answer a routine performance question

A count-precision standard is designed to help verify that a liquid particle counter produces repeatable count results under a defined sample procedure. It is not automatically a full size-calibration standard.

Current AP content describes a ready-to-use count-control suspension around 2,000 particles/mL at selected sizes.

Size control vs count control

Know what the certificate supports

A count-control product may include a reference size, but the primary procedure may be designed around concentration and repeatability. A size-calibration procedure may require a different uncertainty, distribution or concentration architecture.

Decision rule: use the certificate field the procedure depends upon. Do not infer a broader calibration claim.
